Now Available for Download in English, French and Arabic!

The Press Release highlights the achievements of the first successful year of EUMEDGRID-Support  project. The  challenge of fostering an open dialogue between Europe the Med Rim and Middle-East and of  increase stakeholder and community awareness on the fundamental importance of e-Infrastructures has been achieved through the organization of high level policy events, thematic workshops  and training activities.

The report includes the description of the objectives and achievements of the event, the highlights from the Opening Cerimony and the most important insights from the event. One section of the report is also dedicated to the description of the topics related to the session "Applications and Achievement enabled by Research Networks" chaired by Federico Ruggieri, INFN, Italy, EUMEDGRID-Support Project Coordinator.


If you are a grid computing user or potential user from a Mediterranean country or sub-Saharan Africa, then you should complete the EUMEDGRID-Support survey to collect information about your understanding of the grid concept and your experience as a site administrator/user. The answers to the survey will be analysed to provide you and your scientific communities with services and information about Distributed Grid Computing Infrastructures, tools and services for grid use. The survey will be open until 20 February 2011 and takes 5 minutes to complete.

The EUMEDGRID-Support deliverable "State of the art of e-Infrastructures in the Mediterranean Region" is now available on the EUMEDGRID-Support website for all the registered members.

The deliverable provides an overview on the status of e-Infrastructures in the Mediterranean  region, with a particular emphasis on Grid Computing and the underlying network layer, mentioning  also the most important projects and initiatives in the area.

EUMEDGRID-Support project participated in the process of building the ASREN - Arab States Research and Education Network - organisation in conjunction with EUMEDCONNECT2 and GEANT2.
